Mineral Value HQ

About us

A neutral place to understand your mineral rights

Mineral Value HQ exists for one reason: to help mineral and royalty owners understand what they own, in plain English, without pressure.

Why we started

Mineral rights are confusing, and the people who own them are often the least prepared to deal with them. Many inherited their rights from a parent or grandparent. They live far from the land, they have never seen a drilling rig, and one day a letter arrives offering to buy something they did not even know they owned. That moment is exactly when good information matters most, and it is exactly when it is hardest to find.

When we looked at what was already out there, we found a lot of sites pretending to be neutral while quietly working to get owners to sell fast and cheap. The advice was rarely written for the confused inheritor. It was written to generate a quick transaction. We thought owners deserved better, so we built the resource we wished existed.

What we are

We are an education-first resource. Our job is to explain how mineral rights work, what drives their value, and what your realistic options are. We publish plain-English guides, state and county overviews, and a free valuation request that helps you understand your specific interest. We want you to leave our site better informed, whether or not you ever do business of any kind.

What we are not

We are not a mineral buyer. We do not purchase rights, and we do not have a stake in whether you sell. That distinction matters. A buyer makes money when you sell, so a buyer has a reason to push. We make money differently, and we are completely open about it on our how we make money page. Because we are not a buyer, we can tell you honestly when keeping your minerals is the better choice.

How we keep your trust

Trust is the only thing that makes a resource like this worth using, so we protect it carefully. We do that in a few concrete ways:

  • We explain our business model openly, including how and when we earn a referral fee.
  • We never sell your personal information to random third parties.
  • We do not use fake deadlines or pressure tactics, and we never will.
  • We tell you plainly when the right move is to keep your minerals or to talk to your own attorney or tax professional.

The kind of help you can expect

If you are brand new to all of this, start with our guide on first steps after inheriting mineral rights. If you want to understand value, read how mineral rights are valued. And if a buyer has already contacted you, our guide on what to do with an offer letter will help you respond wisely.

Wherever you are in the process, you are welcome here. There are no silly questions, and there is no expectation that you do anything at all. Learn what you have, take your time, and make the decision that is right for you and your family.

A note on professional advice

We provide general education, not legal, tax, or financial advice. Every situation is different, and the rules vary by state and change over time. For decisions about your specific property, please speak with a qualified attorney or tax professional. We will always tell you when it is time to bring one in.
